Connect allows you to automate the transfer of uploaded and downloaded data to and from lists, list filters, supplemental tables and event data feeds. You can run jobs one at a time, or collect them into groups and run them sequentially.

Using Connect you can:

  • Import data into lists, supplemental table and profile extension table. Update existing lists with your import job. For supplemental tables, the following options are available:
    • Merge imported job data into supplemental records.
    • Configure import jobs to overwrite entire table, or append existing supplemental records.
  • Export lists, list filters, profile extension tables, audiences, audience scope information, and supplemental tables.
  • Automate the import and export of data to and from third-party systems.
  • Set up event data feeds to receive behavioral-level event level data.
  • Automate the export of campaign event data and other data sources.
  • Run jobs one time, on demand, or on a weekly or monthly schedule.
  • Easily view job details and job execution logs.
  • Create groups of jobs, define the order in which they are to be run, and then run the group either on demand or according to a schedule. For example, import multiple sets of data in the correct order to make sure a list table is uploaded before updating a Profile Extension Table.

Note: Connect is available only if it is enabled for your account. Only users with the Data Director role can work with Connect.

Job management with Connect

Connect uses a modern UI to make job management simpler, easier, and more intuitive. You can easily navigate the steps of the job wizard in any order. The simplified UI provides only the configuration options you need based on the type of job you are creating. When you save a job, you can easily identify any errors and navigate directly to problematic setting for resolution. You can easily manage your jobs and access job logs using the Manage Connect page.

Notes: Connect no longer supports FTP connectivity. You must use either a Responsys File Server or an external SFTP server for uploads. Classic Connect jobs using FTP will continue to work but you cannot change the FTP parameters.

Connect only supports external SFTP servers with static IP addresses. Therefore, Connect cannot support dynamic IP addresses generated for external SFTP servers.
