Email Domains (DKIM) FAQ

What has changed with DKIM setup?

On the Email Preferences page, the name of the subtab has changed to Email Domains (DKIM). The new layout of the subtab is simpler. You don't need to create domain selector names, copy complex information for your DNS record, verify your setup, or activate your domain keys anymore.

Why has the DKIM setup changed?

The new DKIM setup in NetSuite is less complex than the previous setup procedures. Enter the email domain name, click Save, and use the provided information to add two CNAME records to DNS at your domain provider's website. NetSuite can activate your domain keys and rotate them regularly to enhance the security of your email domains.

Note:

Only one CNAME record has a DKIM linked, which is expected behavior.

Why is there a warning about TXT records on the Email Preferences page?

Warning banner on the Email Preferences page.

This warning alerts you to add CNAME records for your email domains listed on the Email Domains (DKIM) subtab. Although the current Status of your email domain is Ready, you should add two CNAME records to DNS so that NetSuite can activate your domain keys and rotate them regularly to enhance the security of your email domains. To view the information you need for the CNAME records, click the email domain name on the Email Domains (DKIM) subtab, and click Show DNS Info. For more information, see Set Up CNAME Records in DNS.

My email domain already has a DNS TXT record, why do I need to add CNAME records to DNS?

Don't delete your existing TXT record, but add CNAME records to DNS so that NetSuite can activate your domain keys and rotate them regularly to enhance the security of your email domains. To view the information needed for the CNAME records, click the email domain name on the Email Domains (DKIM) subtab, and click Show DNS Info. For more information, see Set Up CNAME Records in DNS.

Note:

Only one CNAME record has a DKIM linked, which is expected behavior.
