Renewing a Bank Connection after an MFA Error on the Match Bank Data Page
When a bank connection encounters a multifactor authentication (MFA) connectivity error, bank data imports can stop. This procedure explains how to renew the connection from the Match Bank Data page so that you can resume importing data. This behavior applies to bank connections where an MFA error is associated with the account's last import, including Bank Feeds, and connections configured without a SuiteApp. Currently, renewing a connection from the Match Bank Data page can only be done using an MFA warning banner.
To review import status and error details for your accounts, go to Transactions > Bank > Banking Import History.
To renew a connection from the Match Bank Data page:
-
Go to Transactions > Bank > Match Bank Data.
-
From the Account dropdown, select the account.
-
If a warning banner indicates that additional authentication is required, do one of the following:
-
If the banner includes the Renew connection link, click it. To see this link, the Financial Institution Records permission is required.
-
If you don't see the Renew connection link, contact the person at your company who manages connections in NetSuite.
-
-
If you clicked the Renew connection link in the banner, do one of the following:
-
If a connection is found for the selected account and it supports the renew process, complete the authentication steps in the modal. The modal displays the same connectivity configuration flow you see on the Connectivity Configuration subtab of the format profile.
-
If the connection for the selected account doesn't support renewing on the Match Bank Data page, NetSuite displays a message instead of opening the modal. If the message includes a link, click it to open the corresponding format profile and manage or update the connection. If the message doesn't include a link, contact the person at your company who manages connections in NetSuite.
Then, try the import again.

For details on setting up a bank connection that doesn't use a SuiteApp, see Configuring a Connection to a Financial Institution (Without a SuiteApp).
-
-
(Optional) To exit without scheduling an import, click Close without Import.
Closing the modal doesn't affect authentication.
-
To initiate an import after you complete the renew flow, click Initiate Import.
The modal closes. NetSuite initiates an import 1 hour in the future. A success message appears if scheduling is successful. If another delayed import has already been scheduled in the past hour, NetSuite notifies you and doesn't schedule another import.
