Adjusting the Operating Expense Forecast with Predictive Planning and Grid Spread

Use the OpEx Predictive/Spread form to review or adjust departmental Forecasts by accessing historical data. You can also create new Forecasts by viewing trends and growth rate predictions.

The Grid spread feature is available to use for open periods.

This form also includes the Predictive Planning feature, which you can use to review and adjust departmental Forecasts.

Note:

Substitution variables control Version, Scenario, BudCurrYr and BudNextYr .

To adjust the operating expense Forecast:

  1. From the Home page, click the OpEx card.

  2. To go to the OpEx Planning forms, click the 1 tab on the left-hand side.

  3. Click OpEx Predictive/Spread.

  4. In the Point of View, select a Version, Subsidiary, Currency, and Department.

  5. To apply the changes, click the Go icon Screenshot of the Go icon.

  6. Review the Forecast and, if needed, enter adjustments or new values.

    Note:

    You can only enter Forecast values at the detail level.

  7. (Optional) Use the Grid Spread feature to adjust a Forecast total for a row. For more information, see Scenario Planning with Grid Spread.

  8. (Optional) Use the Predictive Planning feature to make predictions or review the operating expense Forecast. For more information, see Forecasting with Predictive Planning.

  9. Click Save.

  10. To populate top-level members with the adjusted data in the input currency, right-click the data grid and select Aggregate to Income Statement.

  11. (Optional) To have your changes reflected in the relevant financial statements in the input and reporting currencies:

    1. Go to the Home page and click the Rules card.

    2. Beside the ruleset NFS_All Accts Forecast Data Refresh, click the Launch arrow.
