Configuring FSM Service Scheduling and Assignment

Configure Schedule Board display defaults, refresh timing, and scheduling choices. For resource, event, calendar, panel, and color definitions, see FSM Schedule Board Configuration. The reference also covers named views, saved preferences, resource and event searches, assignment eligibility, and panel definitions. For the capability and processing behavior, see FSM Service Scheduling and Assignment.

Properties and Defaults

The following table lists scheduling properties, accepted values, defaults, units, and effects.

Configure these properties in the routes/scheduler object.

Property or Setting

Accepted Value

Default

Units

Effect

start, end

Hours from 0 to 24. end must be later than start.

9, 17

Hours of the displayed day

Shows the default hours. Keep a display range of at least one hour.

unit

Positive number

900000

Milliseconds (15 minutes)

Sets the rounding step and fallback duration for event-time adjustments.

refresh

Positive number

60000

Milliseconds (1 minute)

Refreshes Schedule Board data periodically without saving pending changes.

onsite

Nonnegative number

0.5

Kilometers

Sets the distance threshold for comparing event and assignee coordinates. It does not collect coordinates.

groups

Array of mapped resource-property names

["regiontext"]

-

Groups resource rows in the configured order.

administrators

Array of role IDs

Administrator role ID 3 plus roles marked for FSM scheduling.

-

Enables Schedule Board editing controls for the specified roles. It does not grant record permissions.

resource, event

Search, map, and record definitions

Resources: employees. Events: CRM tasks, employee nonworking days, and, when enabled, project tasks and resource allocations.

-

Controls data loaded and eligibility used for scheduling.

A shorter refresh interval increases request frequency. It does not submit unsaved scheduling changes.

The views and calendar properties and panel and color definitions control visible ranges, calendars, filters, sorting, and color choices. For definitions and defaults, see FSM Schedule Board Configuration.

Project tasks require Project Management. Resource allocations require Project Management and Resource Allocations.

Changing Display and Time Adjustments

To display 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and use a 30-minute adjustment step, add these properties to your existing routes/scheduler object:

            {
  "routes/scheduler": {
    "start": 8,
    "end": 18,
    "unit": 1800000
  }
}

For shared search syntax, see FSM Searches and Field Mapping.

Dependencies and Customization Limits

Schedule Board editing controls, event editing rules, resource assignment rules, and NetSuite permissions are separate. Adding a role to administrators does not let that role edit every event or assign work to every employee.

When changing searches or presentation, preserve record IDs, assignment lists, calendar mappings, dates, time zones, and editing rules. Changing search filters affects which work is loaded. It is not a general permission control or scheduling-conflict rule. Schedule Board resources represent people or other configured resources shown on the board. Resources in FSM Mobile define pages or supporting data.

When Changes Apply

Updated configuration values apply when the Board configuration is loaded. Existing saved user preferences can take precedence over display defaults. Refresh timing changes do not save or reverse pending task edits.
