Configuring FSM Service Time Tracking
Configure automatic Track Service Time separately from the manual Time tab in FSM Mobile. Automatic tracking requires task types with a Service Time Item. The manual Time tab has separate item choices and hour limits. For the capability and processing behavior, see FSM Service Time Tracking.
See the following sections:

Changing Automatic Tracking and Manual Limits
Automatic service time tracking applies to everyone who uses FSM Mobile and supports only CRM tasks. Do not enable automatic tracking if FSM Mobile displays both CRM tasks and project tasks. A task type's Service Time Item does not restrict the tracking dialogs or the one-active-job rule to CRM tasks.
Prepare an inactive copy of the current configuration and change only the intended properties in the Editor. Validate and save the revised JSON, then activate the revised configuration. For the complete workflow, see Updating and Validating FSM Configuration.
For each task type that needs automatic time bills, select a service item from the Service Time Item list. Then set time.timetracking to true, as shown.

"time": {
"timetracking": true
}
}
For the account setup context, see Setting Up the Track Service Time Feature.
To limit each manual time entry to 12 hours, set max to 12 at routes/mobile.times.element.duration, as shown.
{
"routes/mobile": {
"times": {
"element": {
"duration": {
"max": 12
}
}
}
}
}
The max setting limits manually entered hours. It does not cap the duration calculated from Start and Complete activities. For information about selecting the times resource, see FSM Configuration. For element properties, see FSM Mobile Element (Block) Reference. For dynamic values, see FSM Expressions and Template Tags.
Dependencies and Customization Limits
Automatic time tracking requires a CRM task with a Service Time Item on its task type and synchronized Start and Complete activities. The activity times must produce a positive duration after rounding. Manual time bill creation and automatic activity processing are separate paths. Changes to their presentation do not make them interchangeable.
Disabling time.timetracking leaves the manual Time tab and existing time bills in place. When automatic tracking is disabled, FSM can assess and clear a pending time request without creating time bills. Enabling tracking again does not guarantee that FSM will process the skipped request.
Preserve employee, task, Case/Project, and asset mappings for manual entries. The listed manual limits are decimal hours: 0.1 hour is six minutes.
When Changes Apply
Changes to automatic capture take effect when FSM Mobile loads the updated configuration. Background time processing also uses the tracking setting when it assesses work. Changes to manual input take effect when the updated form definition is loaded.
