Assisting Employees with Lockouts and Passwords

Follow these procedures to unlock a NetSuite Point of Sale (NSPOS) employee account or to reset their password.

Unlocking an Employee NSPOS Account

Use this task when an employee’s access to NSPOS registers is locked due to five or more incorrect sign on attempts.

To unlock an account in NSPOS:

  1. Press Ctrl+F12.

  2. Search for edit operator.

  3. Tap Edit Operator.

  4. Search for the new operator by last name or open an operator group.

  5. Tap the operator record to open.

  6. Tap Unlock User.

  7. At the prompt, tap Yes.

  8. Tap Done.

Note:

You can also perform this task using the Manager Functions button. By default, this button is located on the main (bottom) button bar in the Journal window. Your company’s custom setup might have the button in a different location or removed it.

Resetting an Employee NSPOS Password

Follow these steps to reset a NetSuite Point of Sale (NSPOS) password. Use this procedure when:

  • A cashier has forgotten their password

  • They believe their password has been compromised, such as being stolen or shared

  • Your business practices require regular password maintenance

  • You believe changing a password would be beneficial

To reset a password in NSPOS:

  1. Press Ctrl+F12.

  2. Search for edit operator.

  3. Tap Edit Operator.

  4. Search for the new operator by last name or open an operator group.

  5. Tap the operator record to open.

  6. Tap Set Password.

  7. Enter the new Password.

  8. Enter the password again to Confirm.

  9. Tap Change.
