Defining which Customer Segments can Access Items (Item Collection)

You can define the customer segments to which an item collection is visible and purchasable from the item collection record.

To define which customer groups can access items in an item collection:

  1. Go to Commerce > Marketing > Personalization > Item Collections.

  2. Click Edit next to the item collection.

  3. On the Customer Segments tab, select a customer segment from the list in the Customer Segment column.

    To add another customer segment, click Add Row and select another customer segment.

  4. For each customer segment, select the Website Visibility Level. The options are:

    • Display Fully - this enables customers in the selected customer segment to view and purchase all items in the item collection

    • Disable Purchase - prevents customers in the selected customer segment from buying items in the item collection by hiding the Add to Cart button for all items in the item segment

    • Disable Purchase and Hide Price - prevents customers in the selected customer segment from viewing item prices and buying items in the item collection by hiding both prices and the Add to Cart button for all items in the item segment

    Note:

    If you have a SuiteCommerce Advanced website, the following visibility options can be used only after you have upgraded to the 2020.2 release of SuiteCommerce Advanced or later:

    • Disable Purchase

    • Disable Purchase and Hide Price

    Do not use these options if your site is using a SuiteCommerce Advanced release prior to 2020.2.

  5. When you have finished adding customer segments, click Save. This triggers a search index rebuild. As soon as the rebuild is complete, the personalized catalog views become active and customers visiting the website are shown the personalized catalog view applicable to them.
