Getting Server Firmware and Software

Language:

System will not boot Oracle Linux 7 with Sun Storage 10GbE FCoE PCIe Converged Network Adapter in UEFI mode (20092072)

When installing Oracle Linux 7 on X3-2L in UEFI mode on a system with the Sun Storage 10GbE FCoE PCIe Converged Network Adapter (SG-XPCIEFCOE2-Q-SR, SG-XPCIEFCOE2-Q-TA) and option ROM enabled, a blank screen appears and the operating system will not boot.

Affected software:

Oracle Linux 7.0
Releases 1.0 and later

Workaround:

In BIOS settings, disable the Option ROM for the PCIE slot of Sun Storage 10GbE FCoE PCIe Converged Network Adapter (SG-XPCIEFCOE2-Q-SR, SG-XPCIEFCOE2-Q-TA).
