When using configuration paths and global properties files, it is possible for the definition of a component to end up scattered across multiple configuration files. This might make it difficult to determine how a component was configured.

The Configuration tab of the Component Editor allows you to look at all of the files that were involved in configuring a component. To determine which .properties file sets which property for a Nucleus component, look at the Configuration tab for that component. The Configuration tab displays the hierarchy of configuration layers and properties files that configure the component. Properties shown last in the Configuration tab take precedence over files listed first. You can view any properties file listed in the Configuration tab by double-clicking the name of the properties file.

You can also use the Component Browser in the Dynamo Administration UI to view the .properties files that configure a component. Navigate to the component and then click the View Service Configuration link to see a page containing a hierarchical listing of the .properties files.
