This guide explains how to configure Oracle® Enterprise Manager Release 2.1.
Oracle Enterprise Manager is a system management tool which provides an integrated solution for managing your heterogeneous environment. The product combines a graphical console, agents, common services, and tools to provide an integrated, comprehensive systems management platform for managing Oracle products.
For program updates and important notes on using Oracle Enterprise Manager, see the Oracle Enterprise Manager Readme.
After you have completed the configuration procedures, see the Oracle Enterprise Manager online help or the Oracle Enterprise Manager Administrator's Guide for information on how to use Oracle Enterprise Manager.
This guide is written for DBAs and system administrators who wish to configure Oracle Enterprise Manager. You should already be familiar with Oracle and the administrative tasks you wish to perform.
For general information about the Oracle8i Release 2 (8.1.6) and how it works, see the Oracle8i Release 2 (8.1.6) Concepts Guide. For information about database administration procedures, see the Oracle8i Release 2 (8.1.6) documentation set. The Oracle8i Release 2 (8.1.6) documentation set contains specific and thorough descriptions of the database administration tasks you can perform with Oracle Enterprise Manager tools.
