This chapter provides a basic overview of the single and dual port StorageTek 8 Gb Fibre Channel (FC) PCI-Express host bus adapter (HBA), Emulex (referred to as StorageTek 8 Gb FC PCI-Express HBA in this document), which uses Emulex (now Broadcom) technology. This chapter also describes the various operating systems, host platforms, storage, and infrastructure configurations that support the HBA and lists the HBA environmental requirements.
