Follow the procedure in this section to configure the HBA for hot-plug operation.

Configuring the HBA for Hot-Plug Operation

  1. Locate the green Power LED indicator near the bottom of the HBA front panel (see LEDs and the Attention Button ).

    Power LED indicator status is as follows:


    LED State
    Meaning
    Removal Status
    Dark
    Power is not applied to the HBA.
    Removal is permitted, or the HBA needs to be configured.
    Flashing
    Hot-plug operation is in process.
    Removal of the HBA is not permitted.
    Solid green
    The HBA is properly configured.
    Removal is not permitted.
  2. If the green Power indicator is not illuminated, briefly press the Attention button near the bottom of the HBA front panel.

    The green power LED will blink for approximately five seconds and then remain on, indicating that the HBA has been properly configured.

    To cancel the operation, press the button again before it stops blinking.
