A DCU can function when it contains one generation of EMSs and a different generation of HDD cages. However, the DCU exhibits the following issues and is not supported.
The system generates warning messages for the DCU.
LEDs on HDDs in 1st Gen HDD cages might not operate correctly.
To avoid these issues, do not mix these combinations in the same DCU:
