How to Display Information for a Given Resource Control

  1. Assume the root role.

    For more information, see Using Your Assigned Administrative Rights in Securing Users and Processes in Oracle Solaris 11.4.

  2. Display the maximum file descriptor for the current shell that is running.

    Command output is similar to the following:

    $ prctl -n process.max-file-descriptor $$
    process: 110453: -sh
    NAME    PRIVILEGE       VALUE    FLAG   ACTION       RECIPIENT
    process.max-file-descriptor
            basic             256       -   deny            11731
            privileged      65.5K       -   deny                 -
