With this program you can update the data for hotel credit recordings, i.e. create, change or delete the existing ones. You can also display the data on the screen for enquiry only.
Hotel credit is a payment transaction where a hotel guest transfers the bill (e.g. in the hotel restaurant) to a room account.
This payment type is only applicable when the terminal system is connected to a background hotel reservation system via the appropriate transfer protocol. At present MICROS Retail OSCAR POS supports the systems
On top of the necessary data transmission protocol, the communication between the terminal and the reservation system is achieved by the Hotel Credit program. When the payment key "Hotel Credit" is pressed on the terminal, the system initiates a request to the background system to check if the guest has a valid room account. If a positive answer telegram is returned, then the terminal system is authorized to send the posting telegram.
