Part G: Managing Warehouses

Chapters in this part: The following chapters describe the functions available from the Warehouse Management menu. These functions are used to define your warehouses, establish warehouse locations and assign inventory, and analyze your current warehouse utilization.

• Chapter 41: Creating and Maintaining Warehouses (WWHS) shows you how to establish each of your warehouses on the system.

• Chapter 42: Creating and Maintaining Location Classes (WLCL) explains how location classes can be used to define the type of merchandise that will be stored in a warehouse location.

• Chapter 43: Creating and Maintaining Locations (WLOC) shows you how to define the locations in the warehouse where merchandise is stored. Warehouse locations can be comprised of a series of zone, aisle, shelf, and bin indicators, or they can be free-form user-defined location codes.

• Chapter 44: Using the Location Generator (MLOC) explains how to use the automated location generator to create multiple warehouse locations at the same time.

• Chapter 45: Creating Item Warehouse/Locations (MIWL) shows you how to assign an item to a warehouse location or change existing item location information, or change existing item warehouse information.

• Chapter 46: Suggest Warehouse Placement (MSLO) describes how to use the Suggest Warehouse Placement function to have the system determine the warehouse location where an item should be stored.

• Chapter 47: Printing the Warehouse Utilization Report (MWUT) describes the selection options that can be used to generate the Warehouse Utilization Report. This report analyzes the percentage of each warehouse location, and the total percentage of the warehouse that is currently being used to store inventory.

• Chapter 48: Creating and Maintaining Item Warehouses describes how to assign items to a warehouses and how inventory history is captured for each item at the warehouse level.

• Chapter 49: Transferring Items (LTFR) describes how to move the entire quantity of an item from one location to another.

• Chapter 50: Creating Item Labels (PILB) describes how to print item labels to use for miscellaneous stock transfers.

• Chapter 51: Working with Default Warehouse Locations (WWDL) describes how to create and work with the default locations the system checks automatically for certain inventory transactions, such as radio frequency transfers.

• Chapter 52: Printing the Inventory Control Report (PINC) describes how to print a report summarizing the changes in total units and dollar values over a specific period.

• Chapter 54: Pending Putaway Overview describes the updates the system performs when you place inventory into a pending putaway or pending transfer warehouse.

• Chapter 55: Working with Warehouse Lists (WWHL) explains how to define the warehouse sequence to use when you fulfill customer orders from more than one warehouse.
