Delegation of approvers in purchase order workflow allows users with approval authority to temporarily transfer their approval responsibilities to another user, typically during absences or when they are unable to access the system. This enhancement enables users to delegate their approval authority to another user within defined rules to streamline and reduce bottlenecks in approval processes. This ensures that purchase order approval workflows are not disrupted, and tasks are handled efficiently, even when the original approver is unavailable.

This feature extends the ability to provide widget input to users. For example, if you want to create a widget that shows the total value of all open sales orders for a business unit, and your company has 20 business units, you don’t need to create and publish 20 widgets. You can create a single widget and enable the user to supply the business unit as input. In this way, widgets can take on a more personalized behavior for each user, without designers having to create, publish, and manage many widgets for every possible combination of inputs. Additionally, the designer can decide whether to present the widget input fields to users within a collapsible configuration menu for a cleaner look, or as input fields that persist on the widget itself.

This feature enables you to associate notifications (by subscription) with tiles and connectors on EnterpriseOne pages. You can then see a notification badge, similar to Watchlists and widgets, showing the number of unread messages for that subscription right in the context of an EnterpriseOne page tile. For example, suppose you have built an EnterpriseOne page with tiles that depict a Purchase Order process, and one step in that process is “Approve PO.” Also suppose that you have built notifications that request approval for purchase orders. With this feature you can associate those notifications to the specific Approve PO step in the process. Even if you have many notifications, you’ll be able to see at a glance which ones apply directly to the Approve PO step, thus helping you easily focus on the completion of critical tasks in the context of a process model.

This feature enables the designer to set conditions under which an orchestration, notification, or logic extension is launched from an event on a form extension.

This feature enhances the orchestration Report step by enabling it to accept printer output options. For example, the printer name or number of copies can be used as orchestration variables. In this way, the actual physical printer name can be passed as an orchestration input, or the orchestration can be designed to derive or map a printer name based on data from previous steps. For example, if the orchestration determines that the data is for a business unit located in Chicago, the orchestration can assign a printer that is physically located there. Other output options, such as orientation and paper type, can similarly be passed into the Report step as variables.

This feature enhances the Debug capability in Orchestrator Studio by enabling you to debug orchestrations that have file inputs. Similar to running an orchestration in Orchestrator Studio, you can specify files as inputs and then step into Debug mode to monitor the step-by-step execution of the orchestration.

This feature enhances the Debug capability in Orchestrator Studio by providing more granularity in debugging form requests that have multiple forms. The debugger can show you how many forms are within a form request step, which forms executed successfully, and precisely on which form an error occurred. With this enhancement, you can easily pinpoint the exact source of an error and debug orchestrations more efficiently.

This feature expands the capabilities of form extensions to power edit forms. Specifically, this feature enables you to call orchestrations, notifications, and logic extensions from events on power edit forms. It also enables you to modify the controls on power edit forms as you can with form extensions on other form types. For example, the EnterpriseOne Health and Safety Incident Management module provides the Incident Master application to manage data about incidents. This application includes power edit forms with many subforms and many fields on each subform. While the capabilities of this application are extensive, such a broad array of data can be burdensome and distracting to users, especially if they don’t use many of the fields. You can use a form extension to hide, disable, or rearrange fields on the subforms, thereby reducing burden and distraction for the users. You can also extend logic, for example, launching workflows or notifications, from events on the subforms.

The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Scheduler server and kernel now have an interface that enables system administrators to control, configure, maintain, and monitor scheduled jobs on the web client. The web version of the Scheduler application provides the same functionality as the Windows Development Client version, enabling administrators to perform all scheduler-related functions without the need for a Development Client. Additionally, it enables users to orchestrate and notify about the scheduler records, thus enabling automation and streamlining the administrative tasks. Finally, it offers enhanced options that are not available in the Development Client version, such as the ability to define jobs based on the business day of the month, specify specific operating hours for processing jobs, Virtual Batch Queue awareness, high availability, and more.

Table Operations are tasks that the developers and administrators occasionally need to perform to create and maintain an environment in EnterpriseOne. With this feature, users have the option to manage physical attributes of tables from the EnterpriseOne web client (web OMW), instead of the Development Client. In addition, this feature provides extended options for table indexes that were unavailable in the standard Development Client, such as generating a single index. Finally, an EnterpriseOne user has the option to perform the *ALTER operation on an existing table that has changed its format, in order to retain any existing data.

Apply Application Update (UN) Language Packs through the Web Software Updates with this enhancement. Previously, Application Update Language Packs could only be applied through the standard Software Updates application with reliance on the Windows Deployment Server and not through the Change Assistant. With this enhancement, Application Update Language Packs are provided as a multi-platform deliverable that can be applied into the JD Edwards Update Manager repository, through the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne web client and tracked with the software updates history.
