What’s new in 2026.8
QuickStart 2026.8 introduces consolidated Journal and inventory navigation, expanded report browsing, draft BILL payment batches, expanded Rippling payroll processing, released OAuth access for the MCP server, and workflow updates across subscriptions, receivables, sales, tax, and shipping. The released 2026.8 hotfixes also introduce Free Tier registration. Features controlled by permissions or account configuration appear only when they are available to you.
Use consolidated Journal and inventory pages
Open Menu > Accounting > Journal and switch between Journal entries and Recurring journal entries. Under Menu > Products and services > Manage inventory, switch between Inventory adjustments, Inventory transfers, Inventory cost revaluations, and Inventory counts.
For more information, see Journal and Manage inventory.
Find and organize reports
The Reports work area provides text search, additional search criteria, Card and Table views, and the Default, All reports, Category, and Business area grouping options.
For more information, see Reports and analytics.
Configure and monitor Rippling payroll processing
Rippling Integration now requires separate account mappings for gross pay, employee taxes and deductions, garnishments, employer taxes and contributions, net pay, and payroll funding. QuickStart validates a token before storing it and does not display the saved token again. Payroll runs shows the accrual and settlement journal status independently, links to created journal entries, and reports terminal synchronization failures. Authorized users receive a notification when a synchronization reaches a terminal failure.
For more information, see Connect QuickStart to Rippling, Synchronize Rippling payroll and create journal entries, and Review Rippling payroll runs.
Connect AI clients with OAuth and use expanded MCP capabilities
Compatible AI clients can use OAuth to request read-only or read and write access to the QuickStart MCP server. The authorization page includes a security warning and access terms that you must review before allowing the connection.
The MCP server can discover, read, and, with read and write access, update supported preferences. It also returns browser-openable report links, exposes the actions available for a specific record, and supports additional purchasing and payables transformations. Available tools and operations remain subject to the signed-in user’s permissions, the credential scope, and the record’s current state.
The Agent Audit Log can link an eligible agent tool call to the Audit log filtered to the system notes created by that call.
For more information, see Set up the QuickStart MCP server, Review and revoke OAuth client registrations, and Review the Agent Audit Log.
Create draft BILL payment batches
After Payment Automation is enabled and its setup is complete, you can select eligible vendor bills, a mapped GL bank account, and a payment date to create a draft payment batch. Eligible bills are either approved or do not require approval. Creating the batch reserves the selected bills from other active batches but does not execute the payment. Review and complete the payment in BILL.
For more information, see Create a BILL payment batch.
Review subscription and receivables safeguards
QuickStart 2026.8 includes these safeguards:
- Subscription usage already included in billing has the Billed status and cannot be voided.
- A recurring invoice template cannot be deleted after it has generated an invoice.
- When you manually enter a customer payment total, selecting transactions cannot increase the applied amount beyond that total. QuickStart applies the available amount in selection order and can partially apply the last selected transaction.
- Endless subscription schedules exclude draft subscriptions and generate periods three years ahead from the current date or a future subscription start date, including periods across month-end and leap-year boundaries.
For more information, see Add usage to a subscription, Subscription amounts and billing behavior, Manage a recurring invoice, and Create a customer payment.
Review other workflow changes
QuickStart 2026.8 also includes these changes:
- A successfully emailed quote changes to Sent to customer.
- After you create a tax jurisdiction, you can assign it to your company immediately or defer the assignment.
- An operating location can be designated as Default for shipping. QuickStart can use that location on applicable sales orders, invoices, and vendor bills.
- The product item form no longer displays or edits item-location configurations on a Locations tab.
- Multi-word partial terms can match records in Search.
- Comparative report PDF headers include the date ranges used for each comparison column.
- The 2FA authenticator setup provides the correct Android and iOS store links.
- An inactive account displays a dedicated message after sign-in.
For more information, see Send a quote, Create a tax jurisdiction, Create an operating location, Navigate QuickStart, and Set up two-factor authentication.
Register for the Free Tier plan
The 2026.8.2 and 2026.8.3 hotfixes introduced Free Tier registration and account-management changes. QuickStart registration displays the QuickStart Free Tier $0 / Month plan. After you enter your contact and company details and verify your work email, account setup begins without a payment-card step. The registration agreement links to the QuickStart Terms of Use and Service Description. Once the account is ready, you can create a password from the ready screen or from the account setup email. In Account management, My plan displays the current account plan without payment-card or cancellation actions.
The 2026.8.4 hotfix updated the password setup screen reached from an invitation. It links to the Oracle NetSuite QuickStart Terms of Use and Oracle Privacy Policy.
For more information, see Create a QuickStart account and View your current QuickStart plan.
OAuth connections and mobile actions in 2026.8.5
In QuickStart 2026.8.5, compatible AI clients can reuse an OAuth client registration previously approved in the same company to request a separate QuickStart authorization. Each authorization has its own grant, so revoking one connection does not revoke another grant for the same client. On small mobile screens, actions in sticky page headers remain accessible and reappear when you scroll up.
For more information about OAuth access, see Set up the QuickStart MCP server and Review and revoke OAuth client registrations.
