Trade Agreements

Overview

You can model your kit using a trade item structure where the structure represents the kit and the trade item structure components represent the individual items contained in the kit. Your kit may be modeled in an upstream ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and sent into Global Trade Management (GTM) via integration. Or you can model it directly in GTM.

Once configured, you can use the kit in GTM processes. For example, you can receive a shipment from an upstream system which is modeled as a trade transaction in GTM. The trade transaction includes a line with an item representing the kit. GTM knows it’s a kit since the item is associated with a trade item structure. You can run processes against this trade transaction line, including automatically assigning the individual items in the kit as child lines to the transaction. You can then run GTM processes against the child lines within the kit, including assigning product classification data to the child lines, or creating documents and customs filings based on this information.
