Configuring Compliance Rules and Constraint Sets to Automatically Assign Child Lines for a Kit

Compliance rules are used for many purposes. In this example, the compliance rule is run against a trade transaction line which has an item modeling the kit. The compliance rule assigns the individual items from the trade item structure components as child line items to the trade transaction line. This assignment is based on the trade item structure you previously configured.

On the Compliance Rule tab page, specify the criteria that must be met for a compliance rule to be used. These criteria are based on your business requirements and can include information based on items, parties, transactions/lines, and/or regions/countries.

In this example, the criteria you are using to assign the child items is item information. You can specify:

  • Control Category – A control category of ITEM STRUCTURE must be selected to assign the child lines for the kit.
  • Active check box – Selected.
  • Item Remarks – For this example, enter the item remark qualifier and remark text you want to use. This compliance rule will run when the item on the trade transaction line includes this remark.
  • On the Controls tab page, specify the following:
    • Date Qualifier – Specify the date qualifier on the transaction line that should be compared to the Effective/Expiration Date on the trade item structure to use the compliance rule.
    • Constraint Set – Identify the constraint set that is used to assign the child lines to the transaction line that models a kit. This is the constraint set you previously created.

Note: Once you have created your compliance rule, make sure to create the corresponding Compliance Rule Set and Compliance Rule Set Group. Later, when you execute your compliance rule, you will specify the Compliance Rule Set Group.
