You can work with the following catalog properties in the Details pane. The properties described in this section are the catalog properties that come with Merchandising by default. Your administrator might have added new catalog properties that are specific to your Web sites.

General Tab

Description

Name

Name used for the catalog in other ATG applications.

The catalog name is a required property, but if you do not supply one here, ATG automatically creates one for you.

The name does not have to be unique, as Merchandising assigns a unique ID to each asset you create.

Sites

In a multisite environment, the names of the sites to which the catalog belongs.

This property is read-only. See Assets in a Multisite Environment.

Root categories

List of the top-level categories in the catalog.

All root categories

List of all the root categories in the catalog, including those in any subcatalogs. This property is read-only.

Sub catalogs at root

List of catalogs whose root categories are also root categories of the catalog. (for use in combining catalogs).

Enclosing catalogs

Parent catalogs, if this catalog is a subcatalog.

Facets Tab

The Facets tab displays information about facets associated with this category. You cannot edit properties directly on the Facets tab. Click the Edit button at the top of this tab to go to the Facets UI, where you can create and manage facets. For details about working with facets, see Defining Facets.
