SEFOS-1# configure terminal
SEFOS-1(config)# interface vlan 1
Note - You must shut down the interface before you can configure the IP address for that interface.
SEFOS-1(config-if)# shutdown
SEFOS-1(config-if)# ip address 12.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
SEFOS-1(config-if)# no shutdown
SEFOS-1(config)# end
SEFOS-1# show ip interface vlan1 is up, line protocol is up Internet Address is 12.0.0.1/8 Broadcast Address 12.255.255.255
