When you create a category or product, you can specify values for its attributes in the New Item dialog box. After you create the item, you can modify these values.
Note: For some properties, you cannot enter the value directly. For example, the Root property of a category is a Boolean value, so ATG Commerce provides a drop-down menu where you select either True or False. If the property represents another repository item or is a collection of repository items, you cannot enter a value in the field directly. Instead, click in the field, and then click the ... button to open a dialog box where you can specify the item or items.
