The program description deals with the following:
The basic data of the employee can be programmed, changed or cleared, with this program.
An employee is always programmed with an easy to identify employee no. and is linked to a company. The employee can also be programmed under a employee no. with several operator nos. (e.g. for sales and money handling, see Operator).

As with nearly all other programs the following also applies here:
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Link the employee to a company by entering the appropriate company no. which has already been programmed in the system. The company designation appears on the right.
Changes or clear operations are carried out by calling up the data record with a number entry in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.
If this update program is called up from another menu, the number may already have been displayed.

A new employee is programmed by entering a free no. in this field. If changes or clear operations are necessary, the employee is called up from entry of the company and the appropriate employee no..

Enter the name of a new employee. If changes or clear operations are necessary, the name appears directly after entry of the employee no..
Christian names and double-barrel names, etc. can be entered.

If an employee is to be linked to a supervisor, the employee no. of the supervisor should be entered here. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

Enter the position or the duties of the employee.
No entry enforced.

Enter the first part of the address (road, house number, post box ... ).
No entry enforced.

Enter the second part of the address (normally post code and town).
Entry range permitted: HHMM (hours, minutes)
Enter the time worked in hours and minutes. The entry is only intended as information. Weekly and daily times can be entered.
Note:
Four digits must be entered for the time
worked; if not, an error message appears.

If the employee is stored in the system as a Customer (e.g. staff purchases), the customer no. assigned should be entered in this field.

The number of a customer card held by the employee should be entered here.
Switch active: The employee
is a "Casual"
Switch deactivated: The employee is not a casual worker
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99999
Enter the number of the main branch to which this employee is to be linked. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.
Field with firmly defined selection options
Select the marital status of the employee by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The system offers the following:
Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999
Select the ID no. by clicking on this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
The entries are stored as Text in text group 9005 (see update program Parameter -> Misc. param -> Text groups).
Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 32 pos.
Enter an additional ID no. for this employee.
Entry range permitted: DDMMYYYY (day, month, year)
Enter the date of birth of the employee.
Entry range permitted: DDMMYYYY (day, month, year)
Enter the date in this field to define the starting date for the employee.
Entry range permitted: DDMMYYYY (day, month, year)
Enter the date on which the employee can leave the company.
Switch active: A working
time plan is kept for this employee to record the time worked.
Switch deactivated: No working time plan is kept for this
employee to record the time worked.
If the option "Used standard hours" is also activated for this employee the time worked appears as a default in fields "Monday hours" to "Sunday hours" when the working time plan is recorded.
The time worked must be recorded by an authorised employee via the program Application -> Employee -> Working time plan.

Switch active: The normal
weekly working time is recorded for this employee..
Switch deactivated: No working time plan with the normal
weekly working time is kept for this employee. The working time must be entered
manually for every day.
The time worked must be recorded by an authorised employee via the program Application -> Employee -> Working time plan.

Switch active:. This
employee must enter start and end of the working time at the terminal with key
event <CLOCK>.
Switch deactivated: This employee does not need to enter
the start and end of the working time at the terminal with key event
<CLOCK>.
NOTE:
If this setting is selected to record the working time of employees, the MICROS
Retail OSCAR POS program calculates the working time of the employee on the
basis of the linked working time plans and includes the sign on and sign off
times. The options "Used time recording" and "Used standard
hours" cannot be activated simultaneously.
Note!
Time recording via key event "CLOCK" is only possible if no receipt
operation is in progress at the checkout.

Enter the no. of a working plan which is to be linked to this employee.
The ID no. is selected by clicking on this field and with a second click confirming the selection.
Note:
The data for the time sheet is updated in
program Application -> Employee -> Working time plan. The plan allows the
user to define for which days of the week an entry for Working time data is allowed. An error message appears if an entry is made for a day
which has not been programmed.

Enter the number of hours to define the normal working time for this employee. The value entered here will only be processed if the options "Used standard hours" and "Used working time plan" have been activated for this employee.
The time entered here appears as the default when the time sheets are entered.

Enter the INSZ no. (Identification Social Security Number) for this employee.

This field is only available, if the environment variable "OSCAR_OPTIONS=FiscBelgium"
is set in the file "oscar.ini".
