Install the eUSB Drive

You can perform this cold-service procedure. Power down the server completely before performing this procedure.


Caution

Caution  -  This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to ESD. This sensitivity can cause the components to fail. To avoid damage, ensure that you follow antistatic practices as described in Prevent ESD Damage.


  1. Remove the eUSB drive.

    See Remove the eUSB Drive.

  2. Ensure you are taking all ESD precautions before handling the eUSB drive.

    See Prevent ESD Damage.

  3. Press the eUSB drive into the socket on the motherboard.

  4. Hand tighten the screw to secure the drive to the motherboard.

    Do not use a tool to tighten the screw further.

  5. Return the server to operation.
