User roles

User roles define what areas of Oracle Audience Segmentation the user can access and the functionality they have in the application.

If needed, a user can be assigned more than one role. If a user is assigned multiple roles, they will have the combined access and functionality of all assigned roles.

The following describes what access and functionality each user role has.

Data master

The Data master role has the following permissions.

This role can Publish changes.

Expert configurations

  • Access to the light version of the Expert configuration page (fewer number of permissions than the standard Expert configuration page)

  • View and manage the Streaming API and Near real-time API

Data engineer

The Data engineer role has the following permissions.

The Data engineer can review changes that will be published by clicking View change list, but can't publish these changes.

Data user

Business user

The Business user role has the following permissions.

In addition to the permissions of all other user roles, the Instance admin role has the following additional permissions.
