Audit Approval Workflow Statuses and Actions

Use this reference to understand each audit-level workflow status and the available actions for each status. These statuses apply only when Enable Audit Workflow is turned on. For more information, see Audit Approval Workflow Settings.

These audit approval workflow statuses are separate from audit control statuses.

Available actions also depend on the user's Compliance 360 role.

Audit Workflow Statuses

Status	Meaning	Record Access
In Progress	The audit is being prepared. This status is assigned after the first save.	Users with edit access can update the audit.
Ready for Submission	Every control is Pass or Fail, and Audit Insights contains content.	The Compliance Officer can continue editing the audit.
Pending Approval	The audit was submitted to its assigned approver.	The audit is locked. The approver can review it without editing its content.
Approved	The approver approved the audit.	The audit remains locked.
Rejected	The approver rejected the audit and requested changes.	The Compliance Officer can revise it. Its status remains Rejected during editing.
Resubmitted	A revised audit was sent for another approver decision.	The audit is locked. The approver can review it without editing its content.
Completed	The Compliance Officer completed an approved audit.	The audit is locked.
Reopened	A Compliance Officer reopened a completed audit for changes.	The Compliance Officer can revise it.

Reopen	Compliance Officer	Completed	Enter comments.	Reopened

An audit with workflow enabled becomes Ready for Submission when every audit control has Pass or Fail status and Audit Insights contains generated or manually entered content. An approver must also be selected before submission.
