Promotional URLs
Promotional URLs are short and descriptive website URLs that link to online forms, or tabs, categories, or items in your website.
For example, the URL NetSuite assigns to the Information tab of the Wolfe Electronics website is http:// www.wolfeelectronics.com/app/site/site.nl/site.ACCT00000/mode.items/sc.5/.f. By creating a promotional URL, Wolfe can promote this page to customers as http://www.wolfeelectronics.com/information. When customers enter the promotional URL, they are taken to the Information tab of Wolfe's site.
If you pass a promotion's coupon code through the URL, NetSuite applies discounts associated with the promotion to any order placed during that site visit.
Before you set up promotional URLs, you must set up your own domain through a domain registrar. For more information, see Domain Setup Checklist.

Customers can now access your web pages using this promotional URL. When customers access a web page using a promotional URL different from the site's domain name, the URL may change to the default display URL.
NetSuite determines the domain in the URL using the following rules:
-
The first domain hosted as a Promotional URL at Commerce > Hosting > Domains.
-
The domain used in the web store primary site URL.
-
The first domain name that begins with www and is hosted as a hosted web page.
-
If there is no hosted web page domain that begins with www, NetSuite uses the first domain hosted as a hosted web page.
-
If 1 - 4 do not apply, NetSuite uses the first domain name in the list on the Set Up Domains page that begins with www.
