Shared Email Domains

Important:

Use the following procedure when sharing the same email domain between more than one NetSuite production account.

A user with an Administrator role or a user with the Full level of the Set Up Company permission can perform the following procedure. Contact NetSuite Customer Support for assistance with sharing a domain.

To configure an email domain for sharing between accounts:

  1. Determine which production account will be the main (or parent) account for the shared email domain. The main (or parent) account is the account of the company that owns the domain. For example, the main account could be the company headquarters, while the company’s subsidiaries also use the same email domain.

  2. Both the main (or parent) account and the subsidiary (or child) accounts sharing the domain should set up DKIM, following the procedures in these two sections:

    Important:

If you do not complete both procedures, the FROM header will be rewritten for email sent from the accounts that are using the same domain.

  3. Contact NetSuite Customer Support for assistance to share this email domain.

    Note:

In accounts that share an email domain, messages are displayed in Details column on the Email Domain (DKIM) subtab. The message indicates that the email domain is used by more than one NetSuite account, and serves as a reminder that if the DKIM configuration ever needs to be modified, you must contact NetSuite Customer Support.
