Limiting The Number Of Appointments In An Appointment Period

When you set up an appointment period for a dispatch group, you can define the maximum number of appointments that can be scheduled in the period. For example, you can indicate that the "meter installation crew for the northern region" has three appointments available between 1 pm and 5 pm on 15-Jan-2003.

Note:

An appointment is notional. As described above, an appointment is a group of field activities located at the same premise that are linked to an appointment period.

The appointment validation algorithm plugged-in on the dispatch group controls whether a new appointment can be scheduled at a premise. This means your implementation can construct whatever rules it needs to prevent overbooking an appointment period. Refer to the AAVL-AVLAPPT algorithm type for a description of a base package algorithm.
