Follow these steps to export assets to a spreadsheet:

  1. Create or open a project. See Creating an ATG Merchandising Project or Opening a Project.

  2. In the Navigation pane, select the assets you want to export. See Navigation Pane.

If you choose to export assets that you have modified in your project, the property values from the version in your project are exported instead of the values from the main version. For more information, see Asset Versioning.

  3. In the toolbar, click Export.

  4. If you selected more than one type of asset for export, open the Asset Type list and select which type you want to export. You can choose only one.

If you choose a parent type, any subtype assets are also exported. To export only assets of a subtype, select it from the list instead of the parent type.

  5. In the Properties list, select the properties you want to include in the export. The ID property does not appear because it is always exported. Collection properties appear in brackets.

Note: If you do not choose any properties, then only the ID is exported. You could use this as a starting point for creating a spreadsheet for import. See Importing Assets from a Spreadsheet.

  6. (Optional) To export a collection property with its contents itemized into rows, select the property and click Show Collections in Separate Rows. You can choose only one property. For more information, see Options for Exporting Collection Properties.

  7. (Optional) To preview the exported data, click Preview.

A sample of the exported data appears showing the first five rows of the spreadsheet. You can modify your Asset Type and Properties selections and click Preview again.

  8. Click Export.

A dialog appears where you can choose whether to open or save the exported file.

Note: After you choose to save or open the file, the export operation cannot be cancelled and you cannot work on other ATG Merchandising tasks until the export is complete.

After you export the file, you can edit the asset properties in the spreadsheet and import your changes back into a project in ATG Merchandising. See Importing Assets from a Spreadsheet.
