There are countless ways to combine profile group options to specify the people you want to include or exclude from certain groups. Profile group definitions are based on Boolean (“and/or”) logic, meaning that you can use AND statements and OR statements to create more sophisticated inclusion and exclusion rules. AND statements let you include (or exclude) people who meet all conditions in the profile group definition. OR statements let you include (or exclude) people who meet any of the conditions in the profile group definition. The following samples show how these subtle changes in the wording of a definition can change a group’s makeup completely.

Sample 1: All people in the profile group called CarLovers who are (a) from Boston AND (b) male:

Include these people:
   people in group CarLovers
   whose Home address.city is Boston
   and whose Gender is male

Sample 2: All people in the profile group called CarLovers who are (a) from Boston OR (b) male:

Include these people:
   people in group CarLovers
   whose Home address.city is Boston
   or whose Gender is male

Sample 3: All people in the profile group called CarLoversPLUS all people from Boston PLUS all male users.

Include these people:
   people in group CarLovers
