The Query Type Breakdown analysis provides information about the volume of search engine activity. It compares the numbers of different types of search query.

The components of the analysis are explained in the following table.

Type

The name assigned to the search query type

Query types include: Unspecified, Simple Search, Browse, Structured Search, Similar Doc Search, and Category Navigation.

# Queries

The number of queries of the type that occurred during the period set by the period ending date and the number of trailing days

% Queries

The percent of all search queries that was made up by queries of the type. This is calculated based on the queries that occurred in the period set by the period ending date and the number of trailing days.

Prior Trailing 7 Days

The number of queries of the type that occurred between 13 days before the period ending date and 7 days before the period ending date

Trailing 7 Days

The number of queries of the type that occurred between 6 days before the period ending date and the period ending date

Trailing 7 Day Pct Var

The percentage change between the number of queries of the type that occurred during the week leading up to the period ending date and the number that occurred during the week before that
