Installation Task Overview

This table lists the tasks to perform for switch installation. Before you begin, answer these questions:

How you answer these questions identifies variances from a standardized installation, and these differences are addressed in the installation procedures.

Confirm supplied power and environmental factors.
3.
Understand cabling requirements and handling.
4.
If you are installing one switch, determine where to install it.
5.
Heed ESD precautions and gather appropriate tools.

Verify the shipped components.

If necessary, assemble the optical data cables.
8.
Route the data, power, and management cables for installation.

If you are installing one switch, assemble a filler.
