You can use the following URL parameters to personalize your Self Service site for any user. Using URL parameters is particularly helpful when working with transient, or unregistered, user:
brand
: can be used on a brand selector pagelocale
: can be used to localize the contentsegments
: can be used to target the content on the Marketing panel
These parameters are passed in a URL so that a user is directed to the appropriate site, using the following syntax:
For the first parameter, append to the URL a question mark (?) and the parameter with its value. For example:
http://
hostname:port
/service/main.jsp?segments=Segment1
To add additional parameters, use the ampersand character (&). For example:
http://
hostname:port
/service/main.jsp?segments=Segment1
&brand=Brand1
You can create a page on which the user selects a brand and then add the chosen brand to the user name and password, so that when a user logs in to Self Service, the right site is displayed.
For example, when an agent e-mails a solution to a user, the brand selector page can be displayed after the login so that the solution is displayed on Self Service using the correct style.
The ATG Service Administration Self Service > Global Settings page uses a Brand Management setting that controls this feature.
Note: When a user access the site, the GlobalPageParametersFilter
parameter
looks for a page parameter entitled brand
. If this parameter is present, it sets the brand property on the user profile. For a brand specific site to be displayed correctly for a logged in user, the brand parameter must be specified in the URL.
If the parameter is not present, the profile property is set to empty, which treats the user as if a member of the EveryoneExternal
group.
