Targeting items are managed in the ATG Content Administration system as file assets with .properties extensions. By default, the items are stored in the following location:

<ATG11dir>\home\Publishing\versionFileStore\PublishingFiles

where <ATG11dir> refers to the ATG 11 installation directory; for example, C:\ATG\ATG11.

Within the Business Control Center, assets are tracked through a path in the ATG registry, which is an internal directory structure that allows ATG modules to access items created within other modules. By default, targeting items have the following path in the registry:

The last part of the path, RepositoryGroups or RepositoryTargeters, is a folder in the registry. In some cases you may want to use a folder that is different from the default. The next section describes how to specify a different folder.

Note: You can only select folders that exist below the root, which is the default folder.
