Testing Hostname Resolution (CLI)
The CLI includes built-ins for nslookup and
getent
hosts, which can be used to test that hostname resolution is
working:
hostname:> nslookup deimos
198.51.100.1 deimos.sf.fishworks.com
hostname:> getent hosts deimos
198.51.100.1 deimos.sf.fishworks.com
