Object Store Configuration

The object store service enables an appliance to save data as storage objects into the Oracle ZFS filesystem through the OpenStack Object Storage protocol.

Enabling the Object Store Service

To enable the object store service, go to Configuration > Services > HTTP and select the check box for Enable Object Store. Before applying the change, configure the object store properties.

After enabling and configuring the object store service, enable the feature on individual filesystems by going to Shares > Filesystems. Double-click on a filesystem to view its details, and then select the Protocols tab. In the HTTP section, for the Object store mode option, select Read/write to enable the feature for the filesystem.

Object Store Properties

Once the object store service is enabled, you can configure it with the object store properties, as shown in Figure 59, Table 59, Object Store Properties.

If the OpenStack Identity Service option was selected when you applied your changes for the HTTP service, a test connection is made to the specified server with the provided properties information. If the connection fails, a dialog box opens, and you can either apply or cancel all changes to the HTTP service.
