Index fields are examined for possible matches with the shopper’s search term only if:
They have been marked as searchable. Fields can be marked searchable by the merchandiser through the catalog view for editing product attributes, in the Oracle Commerce Cloud Service, and
They have been added to the search interface as members, on the Search tab of the Oracle Commerce Cloud Service, or through the Search and Navigation REST API, and
They are members of the default search interface
