Supported Oracle Linux Operating Systems

Oracle Server X8-2 and Oracle Server X8-2L support the following Linux operating systems at the initial release of the servers.

Linux OS Version	Edition
Oracle Linux	Oracle Linux 7 Update 6 OS for x86 (64-bit) with the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 5 Update 1

Note - Optionally, you can install the Red Hat Compatible Kernel on Oracle Linux 7 Update 6 OS for x86 (64-bit).

If Oracle Linux OS is installed on your server but you do not want to use it, you can install any other supported operating system or virtual machine software on your server.
