The following table describes the high-level steps for installing VMware ESXi software.

3	Confirm the VMware ESXi release that you want to install.	Supported VMware ESXi Operating Systems
4	Choose an installation method. You can use the manual Installer or the automated Installer. Note - Manual Installation is used in this example. 5	Verify that your system meets the requirements for VMware ESXi installation: Minimum memory, disk space, etc. Firmware is updated to the latest version. 7	Partition your system. The Installer can install VMware ESXi on an entire disk or on a partition. 8	Download the VMware ESXi image.	An ISO image of the VMware ESXi installation program is available as a download at https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/downloads.

10	Reboot the server before using VMware ESXi.	Resetting or Powering the Server Off and On
11	Perform post-installation tasks. Download patches from My Oracle Support. Use the VMware ESXi to: List and search software packages. Install, update, and remove software. Upgrade to a new VMware ESXi release.
