The following table lists the high-level tasks for installing the Oracle Solaris OS using the Text Installer method on Oracle Server X8-2 or Oracle Server X8-2L.

3	Confirm the Oracle Solaris OS release that you want to install. Verify the latest Oracle Solaris SRU.	Supported Oracle Solaris Operating Systems
4	Choose an installation method. You can use the Text Installer or the Automated Installer. Note - Text Installer is used in this example. 5	Verify that your system meets the requirements for OS installation: Minimum memory, disk space, and other system requirements. Firmware is updated to the latest version. 11	Perform post-installation tasks. Download patches from My Oracle Support. Use the Oracle Solaris Image Packaging System (IPS) to: List and search software packages. Install, update, and remove software. Upgrade to a new Oracle Solaris release.
