Review the server Product Notes for information updates.

Install server hardware and connect to the Oracle ILOM service
processor.

Confirm the Oracle Solaris OS release that you want to install.
Verify the latest Oracle Solaris SRU.

Choose an installation method. You can use the Text Installer or
the Automated Installer.
Note -
Text Installer is used in this example.

Verify that your system meets the requirements for OS
installation:
-
Minimum memory, disk space, and other system
requirements.

Firmware is updated to the latest version.

Prepare to install the Oracle Solaris OS:
|
|

Partition your system. The Text Installer can install the
Oracle Solaris OS on an entire disk or on a partition.
|
|

|
Download the Oracle Solaris Text Installer image.
|
|

|
Perform a Text Installation.
|
|
10
|
Reboot the server before using Oracle Solaris OS.
|
|

|
Perform post-installation tasks.
Download patches from My Oracle Support.
Use the Oracle Solaris Image Packaging System (IPS) to:

List and search software packages.

Install, update, and remove software.

Upgrade to a new Oracle Solaris release.
