Review the server Product Notes for information updates.

Install server hardware and connect to the Oracle ILOM service
processor.

Confirm the Oracle Linux OS release that you want to
install.
|

Choose an Oracle Linux installation method. You can perform a
Manual Installation or an Automated Installation using
Kickstart.
Note -
Manual Installation is used in this example.

Choose the Kernel software release.
Optionally, you can install the Red Hat Compatible Kernel on
Oracle Linux 7 Update 6 OS for x86 (64-bit).

Verify that your system meets the requirements for
Oracle Linux OS installation:

Minimum memory, disk space, and other system
requirements.

Firmware is updated to the latest version.

Prepare to install the Oracle Linux OS:

|

|
Partition the system.
|
|

|
Download the Oracle Linux installation distribution
files.
You can obtain operating system and application software from the
Oracle Software Delivery Cloud.

Download the kernel required for the Oracle Linux OS
installation.
|
|

|
Install the Oracle Linux OS either manually or using the
automated KickStart utility.
This example shows a manual installation.

|
Reboot the server before using Oracle Linux OS.

Perform post-installation tasks.

Refer to the server Product Notes to review any issues or
operating notes,

Register Oracle Linux and activate Automatic
Updates.

(Optional) Register with the Unbreakable Linux Network
(ULN).

Obtain errata information and updates from the Oracle
Linux yum server. Individual RPM packages for released
versions of Oracle Linux as well as update/errata packages
can be obtained from the Oracle Linux yum server.

Update all install packages.
Note -
Update to Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 5
Update 1, kernel 4.14.35-1844.2.5 or later after the
Oracle Linux 7 Update 6 installation.
