Configure Session-Scoped Nucleus Components for Session Backup

In order to support multiple ATG Content Administration servers, you must configure the session backup service of the Dynamo Application Framework (DAF) to include session-scoped Nucleus components that are used by ATG Content Administration.

To configure session backup for ATG Content Administration:

  1. Identify the components to back up. Look for $scope=session in .properties files and session.putValue calls in servlets. Usually, you should back up all form handlers used by ATG Content Administration, but consider including other session-scoped components that ATG Content Administration uses.

    You can back up whole components and individual properties of a component.

  2. On each server, add the names of the components or properties to include in session backup, to the sessionBackupServerPropertyList property of the component /atg/dynamo/Configuration.

    For example, a Configuration.properties file might include this setting:

    sessionBackupServerPropertyList+=\
       /com/example/MyComponent.property,\
       /com/example/TestComponent

  3. In the Configuration component, set the property backingUpSessions to true.
