The default project workflows provided with ATG Content Administration contain Deploy elements that attempt to deploy projects automatically when triggered—usually when a user completes the Deploy task in the ATG Business Control Center. If you do not want deployment to occur when these workflow elements are triggered but prefer either to schedule all deployments, as described in Schedule Recurring Deployment, or to have a system administrator start deployments manually through the ATG Business Control Center, remove the deployment elements from the workflows. See Adapting Workflows to Content Management Projects for more information.

You can also define the principals—for example, users—that can claim and assign the task that incorporates the Deploy Project element. For more information on setting access rights to workflow tasks, see the discussion on workflow security in the ATG Personalization Programming Guide.
