With server host power is off, a fan OK/Fault status LED might not be lit. Each fan module has one bicolored status LED that is located on the fan module. The status LED should illuminate green (OK) or amber (Fault) even when the server is in Standby power mode.
Affected hardware and software:
Sun Fire X4170 M2 Server
Releases 1.0 through 1.10.1
Workaround:
Use Oracle ILOM to determine fan module status or turn host power back on.
