BIOS Settings

The BIOS has a Setup utility stored in the BIOS flash memory. The Setup utility reports system information and can be used to configure the BIOS settings. The configured data is provided with context-sensitive help and is stored in the system's battery-backed CMOS RAM. If the configuration stored in the CMOS RAM is invalid, the BIOS settings will default to the original state specified at the factory. Also, you can reset settings to factory default by clearing the CMOS settings.

The BIOS Setup utility contains menu screens. See BIOS Screens for summaries of first-level BIOS Setup screens and submenus, where applicable.

BIOS Option ROMs

The blade server has an option ROM for each of the following components:

Note - PXE boot from fabric interface is disabled by default. You must change the BIOS setting to boot from fabric interfaces (see Change BIOS Parameters).

BIOS Screen Navigation

Fields that can be configured are highlighted on the screens. All other fields are non-configurable.
