A search test allows you to simulate a search performed on a commerce site without having to go to the site itself. You can choose which search criteria you want to test, such as search configurations, search terms, or facets, and the types of test output you want to see. You can even test undeployed search configurations and facets from inside a project. The test output shows you more than just the list of search results. It also shows you detailed search processing information to help you understand why the search results appear as they do.

Unlike many other assets in Merchandising, search tests are not versioned. You can create, edit, and run search tests inside or outside of a project.
