Configuring Or Unconfiguring a SATA Device

Use the following commands to configure or unconfigure a SATA device:

  • To configure a SATA controller: cfgadm -c configure controller

  • To unconfigure a SATA controller:cfgadm -c unconfigure controller – unconfigures a SATA controller.

In both commands, controller refers to the SATA HBA Ap_Id, such as sata0/0. For more information about the Ap_Id, see About Attachment Point Identification.

The following example configures the c7t0d0 device.

# cfgadm -c configure c7t0d0

The following example shows the state of the c7t0d0 device after it has been configured.

# cfgadm | grep sata0/0
sata0/0 disk connected unconfigured ok
